The flexi hose should have a continuous fall on it. Ours had a bend in it similar to yours and this became a ‘sump’ and held a small quantity of ‘nasties’ all the time. I modified ours to correct this problem, but unfortunately the plastic pipe retained the smell.<br />In the end we bought an 'Airhead Composting Toilet' and absolutely love it!
